01 / IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

A character. A connection. A moment.

The art of
being someone.

Acting is a vessel that permits an artist to intimately explore different lives. I’m drawn to the comical, the complicated, and what it means to be human.

04 / THE PERSON IN THE FRAME

A little curiosity.
A lot of feeling.

At heart,
a storyteller.

Mimi LaRose is a bilingual Canadian actor based in Toronto, working in English and French. She is also a screenwriter and camera operator.

Born and raised in Alberta, Canada, Mimi has been reconnecting with her Métis heritage—a personal journey that has become one of the most meaningful parts of her life.

In her early years, she worked on independent film sets and theatre productions, both behind the camera and on stage, including performing at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival. She trained with respected acting coaches, agents, and industry professionals.

Now, having built a life with room for her creative work, Mimi is returning to the industry with focus, clarity, and genuine excitement for what’s to come.

Land & belonging

As a Métis artist of the Métis Nation of Alberta, I carry a connection to the lands that raised me. I honour the First Nations of Treaty 6, 7, and 8 territories across Alberta, and the enduring presence of Métis communities within our homeland. Reconnecting with my heritage is an ongoing journey of listening, learning, and belonging.

I now live and create in Toronto, Ontario. I offer respect to the Mississaugas of the Credit, Anishnabeg, Chippewa, Haudenosaunee, and Wendat peoples, whose traditional territories hold this city. I acknowledge Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people who make their homes here today.

I am grateful to work and tell stories on these lands. I seek to carry that gratitude into my creative practice, with care for the people, histories, and relationships that shape the stories we share.
